Inferno / Rapier PvP Build

Season 8

My favorite build hitting this hard is a dream come true. The combos are so deadly, mobility is amazing and a build that hits this hard shouldn’t be able to survive this well.. Hope you all enjoy!

Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!

Equipment / Attributes

Pushing INT to 441 is no joke, this build hits HARD. I did however want to retain a good amount of survivability for such a hard hitting setup, but if you want to commit to 500 INT you can always take points out of FOC or CON. 100 DEX is a must for the rapier and you could even go for more if you want to up the rapier damage further!

The Inferno is perfect for this build, I love empowering Fireball but you could always go for another perk like Sundering Stacks too. My Narwhal Tusk rapier is also perfect and I recommend you get one of these if you can! If you are NOT using Ignited Runeglass then the rapier should have a Nature Damage gem on it, if you ARE using Ignited Runeglass then go for a Fire Damage gem instead.

This build uses the Old Crown which gives a ton of base resists and stats. The rest of my gear is simple, Refreshing + Shirking Heals. For the third perk of each piece I have Vital Synergy, Leeching Flurry, Hasted Vigor, and Shirking energy. This is the ideal perk setup for this build!

I decided to run Runeglass of Energizing since the Fire Staff already sits at 45% empower, but if you really want to embrace the glass cannon you can go for Ignited Runeglass for that 50% empower and a bit better uptime on it too.

The jewelry is perfect, with the secret healing tech from Endless Thirst being fantastic for keeping this build topped up on health as long as your switching between two different healing potions.

Use the best food you can find, Desert Sunrise, and Honing Stones. The two potions of choice for this build are the Regeneration and Burst Regeneration potions since they give the most healing value.

Active Skills

Fire Staff Skills

With Empowering Fireball this skill hits quite hard. Perfect not only for opening up with bug AOE damage but also great at finishing opponents since it’s easy to land.

I LOVE incinerate on this build since it does a great job keeping melee opponents off you, but since the build has quite a lot of damage you can always run Pillar of Fire here for even more ranged burst!

Burnout is nasty, it can do a TON of damage and is one of your best tools for repositioning yourself while attacking. Try to wind your burnout up around a corner and go through your opponents to maximize its effectiveness!

Rapier Skills

Since this build is so squishy, you will 100% need to have Leeching Flurry. It lets you trade with any opponent and with this setup deals massive amounts of damage. The healing is a huge plus too!

Evade is a must have for attacking and defending. You can cancel anything with this skill and it has a very high skill ceiling, so practice up your combos with it!

A build like this needs a gap closer to escape bad situations and Fleche is perfect since it allows you to move through opponents. Fleche can also do a TON of damage if you land those backstabs with it!
