Crescent’s Wave / Rapier PvP Build

Season 9

This build has never been stronger.. massive damage on both weapons, ranged attacks from the Greatsword and crazy mobility and survivability. One of my favorite weapon combos and it might even be the new assassin meta!

Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!

Equipment / Attributes

Ok, the stat spread looks super weird. 100 STR and 350 DEX is fantastic for Greatsword damage, but since Crescent’s Wave actual wave attack deals arcane damage this weapon benefits a ton from going for 150 INT. Likewise the rapier gets a ton of base damage from both DEX and INT, but it benefits from the jump points from STR as well. With a very high gear score this build can even sport 100 CON!

For the Crescent’s Wave artifact I went with a gem setting as my perk of choice. This allows you to slot an elemental gem on the weapon so it can benefit even more from the INT investment. Ideally this build would be all arcane damage, but the runeglass is CRAZY expensive. So feel free to go for an element of choice like I did! (nature).

The rapier is fantastic, but I wouldn’t mind fitting in Omni Directional Evade instead of Penetrating The empowered (but this requires an expensive crafted rapier!).

My gear is simple, Refreshing + Shirking Heals. For the third perk I have Vital Synergy, Hasted Vigor, and Shirking energy with Crippling Powder Burn as the flex spot. Relentless Freedom would be a great perk to have too! The Old Crown is NEEDED to hit these stat points, you can also use the Attuned Leather Pants as a budget option!

Ideally this build would be all arcane damage, but since that’s a bit too pricey I went with nature damage on the runeglass / ring. You only loose out on a little bit of the wave’s damage by doing this!

The jewelry is perfect, with the secret healing tech from Endless Thirst being fantastic for keeping this build topped up on health as long as your switching between two different healing potions.

Use the best food you can find, Desert Sunrise, and Honing Stones. The two potions of choice for this build are the Regeneration and Burst Regeneration potions since they give the most healing value.

Active Skills

Greatsword Skills

Cross cut can do crazy damage really fast if you cancel the first two swings with a dodge roll. I almost never let this skill play out fully since the final swing is very slow.

Steadfast Strike is perfect for a quick stagger and some burst damage / healing. I also really like how much reach this skill has!

The gap closer is great for getting on top of opponents or escaping especially since it lets you move through enemies. The damage from this skill is really great too!

Rapier Skills

With Leaching Flurry this skill does a ton of damage while healing you and giving a moment of invulnerability. Perfect for attacking or defending!

Evade is the bread and butter of Rapier, you can use it to move around, attack, dodge and so much more. You can also cancel any skill with evade making it a very high skill ceiling ability!

Fleche is the second gap closer of the build and it also can be used to pass through opponents! The combo damage from the backstab can put really fast burst into opponents as well.
