Void / Ice Gauntlet PvP Build

This critical damage build is a super powerful counter to any melee fighter. The void gauntlet has powerful damage skills and can pump out a lot of self-healing just by being aggressive. This build takes advantage of both the ranged and melee potential of the void gauntlet, while using the powerful CC abilities from the ice gauntlet to control the battlefield. You can play this setup in any armor weight of your choice, as its control-oriented gameplay doesn’t require you to wear light armor.

Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!

I highly recommend putting at least 50 points in Constitution, so that your healing consumables are stronger. 100 points is even better if you’re in heavier armor weights. Make sure you stack 150 points in Focus for the bonus healing power!

Constitution

  • 50: All health consumables 20% stronger. +10% logging speed.

  • 100: Increase max health by 10% of your physical armor. -10% reduction on durability loss for tools.

Intelligence

  • 50: +10% damage to light and heavy magic attacks. +10% harvest speed.

  • 100: +10% critical hit chance. 5% chance for 1 Azoth when harvesting.

  • 150: +15% to elemental damage. -10% decrease in weight of harvested items.

  • 200: +10 mana after a dodge. +10% harvest speed.

Focus

  • 50: +10% mana regen rate. +10% fishing line tension.

  • 100: +20 to mana pool. +10% yield increase when salvaging.

  • 150: +20% healing output. -10% decrease carry weight of fish.

Equipment

You will want to get Focus, Constitution, and Intelligence for attributes on your gear.

This build also functions a lot better if you can get Keen for additional critical chance on both your Void and Ice Gauntlets. For the Void Gauntlet, Keenly Jagged is also a great option, as is Vicious or Enchanted. For the Ice Gauntlet, Keenly Empowered is a great second perk alongside Keen.

Both weapons have been fitted with Gambit Gems to increase damage while not at full stamina. The Cruel Gem is also a great choice, as this build has a ton of crowd control.

Resilient and Refreshing are always amazing armor perks for PvP. The Healing Entombed, Deadly Frost, and Unending Thaw Ice Gauntlet perks are also great choices! We haven’t seen what armor perks the Void Gauntlet skills will get yet, but they may be a good option for this build in the future.

Jewelry perks that focus on increasing healing power and max health are amazing. The hearty perk for additional max stamina is fantastic because it allows you to roll twice in light armor, without running out of stamina. I couldn’t get my hands on any Keen Awareness Rings (increases critical chance), but it’s definitely the best perk to have for this build. Regenerating and potion cool-down reduction are the best options for the earring.

I like to play this build in light armor, but because it’s a control-focused build, but it would work great in any armor weight!

The best armor gems to use would be Wilderness Ward physical and elemental damage reduction, as they provide the most well-rounded defense.

As always, you want to try to use the best food and potions that you have available! Make sure you use regeneration potions and try to get your hands on some attribute-increasing food!

Active Skills

Void Gauntlet

Orb Of Decay - 4/4 Upgrades

Orb of Decay is a massive projectile, and the explosion that triggers when you click the skill again is a huge AOE blast. This makes the skill very good at hitting your target, and a great finisher for someone that’s trying to run away. The healing portion of the orb is also very powerful and gives you the option to use this skill defensively instead.

Petrifying Scream - 3/3 Upgrades

This is a powerful AOE stagger that also roots opponents you hit. This skill is fantastic at stopping any melee fighter, and can also be used as a strong offensive stun. After you hit your opponent you can also lock them down further with the Ice Gauntlet, giving this build some super nasty trap combos.

Void Blade - 4/4 Upgrades

The Void Blade has an insane amount of reach, especially on the heavy thrust attack. This makes it an excellent weapon for staying on top of a fleeing opponent. The Blade hits quite hard, are fast, and actively heal you while de-buffing your opponents. The down side to this skill is that it has a cooldown, and will disappear if you swap or sheath weapons. Otherwise, it is your strongest offensive tool.

Ice Gauntlet

Ice Storm - 4/4 Upgrades

Ice Storm combos fantastically with all the other crowd control this build has. The AOE field snares and damages opponents, and you can freeze opponents stuck in the Storm with heavy attacks. This skill does a great job helping you zone out opponents, especially when outnumbered!

Ice Shower - 4/4 Upgrades

This is one of the most powerful roots in the game. It becomes very easy for you to trap someone in this after landing a petrifying scream. The shower is also amazing for controlling the fight when outnumbered!

Entombed - 3/3 Upgrades

A powerful defensive skill that can save you from really bad moments. You can wait out numerous problem skills with Entombed, like Ice Shower and Gravity Well. If you eat some food before entering Entombed, you can keep the healing bonus even while your Ice Tomb is getting attacked!
