The big difference in these setups is the GRIT that having 300 CON gives you. Not only do you have more health with this setup, but the GRIT can make or break your combos at times as well as your ability to move around the battlefield.

Both versions of this build take advantage of that 150 DEX passive for sustain, while the damage version takes it even further by tacking on that Critical damage perk.

Its up to you what setup you want to use, but both should perform well in a variety of PvP situations!

Strength

  • 50: +10% damage to melee physical basic attacks. +10% mining speed.

  • 100: +5% damage to melee slashing and strike damage. +20 encumbrance.

Dexterity

  • 50: +10% chance to critical hit. +10% skinning speed.

  • 100: +5% thrust damage. +20% haste for 3s after skinning.

  • 150: Dodges cost 10 less stamina. -10% decrease in weight of skinned items.

  • 200: +10% bonus backstab and headshot damage. +10% skinning speed.

Constitution

  • 50: All health consumables 20% stronger. +10% logging speed.

  • 100: Increase max health by 10% of your physical armor. -10% reduction on durability loss for tools.

  • 150: -10% to critical damage taken. -10% decrease in weight of logging items.

  • 200: +10% increase to physical and elemental armor. +10% Logging speed.

  • 250: -60% damage reduction when full health (60s cooldown). +10% yield increase when logging.

  • 300: Basic melee attacks gain GRIT. 25% chance to chop down a tree in a single swing.

Equipment

With the high GRIT uptime of this build, the spear is perfect. It adds more bleed pressure and that super nasty weaken to your Skewer. Alternatively you could run another Spear perk instead of Weakening Skewer.

The Sword is fantastic for applying pressure to anyone trying to run away, and that disease is huge for a healing target.

This patch the BIS armor perks for this build are Resilient / Freedom / Elemental Aversion or Shirking Fortification. This build also benefits immensely from running Enfeebling Skewer, Fortifying Perforate, Leaching Cyclone and Fortifying Shield Rush on either your weapons or armor!

All the armor pieces should ideally have Energizing Runeglass giving this build more Stamina sustain, but you could also run Leaching Runeglass here too!

Health, Divine and Slash / Flame Protection is the amulet of choice, feel free to run Stamina Recovery here too. The Heart of Anhurawak is a great ring for this setup, but leaching us a great perk to have too. The Champions Earing works great for this build, with Nimble and Healthy Toast being good options here too.

Stoneform adds a scary durability to this already durable build, and the CC immunity it provides can be huge for escaping a bad spot!

You will need food to reach the jump points that this build requires, and don’t be shy using a honing stone too! Remember to use both Health and Regeneration Potions in PvP!

Active Skills

Sword & Shield

Leaping Strike - 3/3 Upgrades

A fantastic gap closer that staggers, works well as an escape or to pursue a foe with the stagger. The cripple this applies helps you stick to targets as well!

Shield Bash - 3/3 Upgrades

A hard stun that can interrupt opponents and set up big combos for yourself. This skill is great both offensively and defensively as the stun can go through an opponents GRIT!

Shield Rush - 3/3 Upgrades

A pseudo gap closer that staggers and applies a nasty slow. With the Shield Rush perk this skill also gives a pretty hefty Fortify buff, making it an important skill for keeping that buff up as often as possible!

Spear

Cyclone - 3/3 Upgrades

A super packed skill for the spear that has great base damage, applies a deadly slow, restores a ton of Stamina, has GRIT, and can even heal you with the Leaching Cyclone weapon perk on your gear! This skill is great for clump fighting thanks to the huge heal it can have when hitting multiple targets alongside that AOE slow!

Perforate - 3/3 Upgrades

With the Fortifying Perforate perk on your gear, this skill is packed to the brim with buffs and debuffs. A huge Fortify for yourself and Rend and Weaken on your opponent mean if you land a skewer you are going to be bullying your opponent for a while. The cherry on top, Perforate hits like a truck too.

Skewer - 4/4 Upgrades

Skewer is a shorter ranged gap closer that can apply a super powerful bleed to your opponent. With the Weakening Skewer perk this also applies a 44% weaken. It is super important to land this skill on your opponent so time it well!
